Swindon Borough Council have been able to restart their garden waste collections again but warn they might have to prioritise critical waste collections again if they suffer staff shortages in the next few weeks. In a statement the council said:
We are pleased to announce that our Garden Waste service will resume as of tomorrow (9 April).
Thank you to residents for their ongoing support and patience with us as we continue to navigate through the uncertainty of the coronavirus pandemic.
Although we have been able to re-start the service, the ongoing public health emergency may result in us having to prioritise other critical waste collections again should we suffer a shortage of staff over the coming weeks. We would encourage residents to continue to monitor our website for updates on our Garden Waste service www.swindon.gov.uk/coronavirus.
We would also like to remind residents that they should avoid doing any major gardening work or lighting bonfires during this time. For advice on managing and minimising your waste visit https://bit.ly/2XnaFdp
Our Waste and Recycling teams continue to work hard for our residents. We’d like to thank you again for your understanding during this time.
