The Conservatives are set to retain control of Swindon Borough Council with a significant majority.

It was not yet 3pm when the party officially secured enough of the 57 seats to ensure it remained in charge.
In scenes mirrored throughout much of the country, the Conservatives made striking advances in wards previously held by Labour, as well as holding on to existing Tory wards.
At the time of going to press not all results were in, but Tory gains include Haydon Wick, Rodbourne Cheney, Eldene and Park South, Central and Penhill and Upper Stratton.
Wards held on to by the Conservatives include Blunsdon and Highworth, Chiseldon and Lawn, Covingham and Dorcan, Lydiard and Freshbrook, Priory Vale and Ridgeway.
Labour has so far held Gorse Hill and Pinehurst, Old Town and Mannington and Western.
