Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating success in a major initiative to benefit patients.
The Trust is taking part in a national programme called The Reconditioning Games.
Its aim is to promote meaningful activity for patients spending time in hospital, which promotes mental and physical wellbeing and helps to avoid decline.
In recognition of this work, the Trust has been awarded bronze and silver medals.
The silver medal went to the therapy team who ran a virtual run for all patients receiving therapy, and who smashed their 3km target with ward patients completing an incredible 12,600km.
The bronze medal recognises collaborative work with Swindon New College. Health and Social Care students have been visiting the patients and running activity sessions including quizzes and bingo.
