Staff at GWH say the hospital will now allow members of the public to visit their loved ones for one hour a day, including those in the covid-19 wards.

Staff at Swindon's GWH announced this week that visitors are now able to visit for one hour a day, but the visitor can be a different person each day.

Visitors are encouraged to undertake a lateral flow before coming to the hospital and must call the ward beforehand to book a visiting time.

There are some exceptions where a visitor may be permitted to stay longer than one hour, including for patients receiving end of life care or for compassionate care needs.

All visitors must wear a face mask during their visit, and those who are visiting a patient staying on a covid-19 ward will require additional PPE.

Members of the public can find the full information at https://www.gwh.nhs.uk/.../coronavirus.../visitor-guidance/.
