Swindon Police have confirmed that the body of a woman has today - Sunday 4 August - been found in the GWR Park.
A force spokesperson said: "Officers responded to reports that a woman's body had been discovered in GWR Park, Faringdon Road, Swindon just after 11am this morning.
"Sadly, a woman in her 20s was declared deceased. Her next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are her family at this difficult time.
"The park was closed for a number of hours while officers carried out an investigation but has now reopened.
"Although we are in the early stages of this investigation, we do not believe there to be a wider risk to the public."
