The Swindon Hub has begun a campaign to raise £5,000 by the end of November to keep the lights and heating on over winter.
Based in the old River Island building in the heart of the town centre, The Swindon Hub opened last November and is a safe and accessible space for the community to meet, work, play, discuss, learn and share resources.
Swindon Hub’s aim for the coming months is to keep supporting the local community by keeping its doors open and its heating on. This will allow the hub to remain a safe and warm environment for all, organise more events that promote local shops, host a range of activities and workshops, and keep its café open.
Claire Quant, a volunteer and Member of the Board of Trustees at Swindon Hub, said: “The Swindon Hub is all about making a difference to our community and is run completely by volunteers.
“Any money raised will contribute towards our efforts to keep the lights and heating on over the winter so we can continue to provide a safe space for people to socialise, network and participate in activities."
All donations made as part of the fundraising campaign will be used to cover the cost of gas and electricity over the winter months.
