Wiltshire Police are appealing to members of the public for information following a knife attack on a teenage boy in Highworth last night (15/09)
At about 8.30pm yesterday, officers responded to reports that a teenager had been injured in Highworth High Street, following a confrontation with a group of males who were reportedly wearing balaclavas and carrying weapons..
The teenager was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries which were not described as life threatening.
The NPAS helicopter and dog units were rapidly deployed to the scene but no arrests were made at the time.
Detective Inspector Rachel Hardy said: “It’s vital that we hear from anyone who was in Highworth High Street last night at the time of the incident. The young victim is lucky not to have sustained very serious injuries.
“We are asking anyone who was driving through the area of High Street and Swindon Street at the time to contact us if you have dash cam footage you can share.
“It is likely that someone knows about who was involved in the incident and we would urge them to come forward with the information.”
