The family funeral service has found its new home within Kingshill House on Kent Road.
Hillier Funeral Service, a family run and independent Swindon funeral business, is excited to announce it is the proud new owners of Kingshill House.
The firm will make its official move from its current Victoria Road office in the summer of 2022.
General Manager and Funeral Director Becky Hillier said: "We’ve outgrown our Victoria Road office and after looking for a number of years, we finally found Kingshill House which matched all our requirements. It's taken 18 months to get to the point of collecting the keys and the granting of planning permission.
"We will have 2 arrangement offices, 3 peaceful chapel of rest, a grand service room to hold funerals of up to 30 people, plenty of parking and 2 caretaker's flats. The service room will give families another venue option if they want an intimate funeral, or want to hold a service before a burial, or if they simply don't want to attend the crematorium.
"We will be the only funeral service in Swindon to offer this. The move is incredibly important to the Hillier family as it will allow us to continue to provide a high level of customer service to the Swindon community."
Kingshill House in Swindon was well-known for its time as a maternity hospital for a number of years. The team at Hillier Funeral Service say they are looking to give this building a new lease of life and open it back up to the community.
Becky added: "Many people have commented that it seems fitting in the way the building saw life come into the world and is now going to see it safely leave.
"We hope the renovations will be complete by summer 2022 and when they are, we will be holding an open week for anyone who wants a tour around the property."
