Police appeal for information following burglary at Swindon Hindu Temple

Swindon Police are looking for anyone with information regarding a burglary that took place at the Swindon Hindu Temple.

The burglary took place at the Temple and Cultural Centre in the morning of 26 January.

Shortly after 9am, Swindon Police received a report of a burglary at the place of worship in Darby Close, on the Cheney Manor Industrial Estate in Swindon.

Officers believe a quantity of copper wiring, as well as some other items, have been stolen from inside the building. There was also some damage caused within the building.

Detectives are actively investigating this crime and following a number of potential lines of enquiry.

Superintendent Phil Staynings said: “This is very concerning and we are actively investigating this incident.

"We are working closely with the Swindon Hindu community to keep them informed as this develops.“This is completely unacceptable and I would urge anyone with information about who might be responsible for this crime to call us as a matter of urgency."?

Anyone with information about those responsible is being asked to call the police on 101, quoting log 53 of 26 January.
