Great Western Hospital have marked National Volunteer Week by expressing their gratitude to their volunteers.

Great Western Hospital has 400 volunteers who offer support right across the organisation.

The volunteers are out and about on the wards and in departments, comforting and talking to patients, serving lunches and supporting staff. They also support by directing patients and visitors to their appointments, or simply by making a well-needed cuppa!

A spokesperson said: “A huge thank you for the time, energy and commitment the volunteers have devoted to the Trust ensuring our patients, visitors and staff are well looked after."
