The Devizes headquarters of Wiltshire Police was evacuated early yesterday evening - 10 September - following what the force described as a reported incident.
Officers responded shortly before 6pm this evening (10/09) at Devizes HQ have been stood down.
As a precautionary measure the premises was evacuated to allow a detailed search of the buildings, which were subsequently declared safe at about 9pm.
Superintendent Doug Downing said: “Contrary to some inaccurate media speculation, there is categorically no link to terrorism.
"For further public reassurance - we wish to make clear that at no point was there any risk to staff or members of the public.
"I can also confirm that there were no reported injuries and no arrests have been made.
"We wish to thank the public who may have been inconvenienced, for their patience and understanding."
