Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Cricklade.

At approximately 6.15pm on Sunday 19 August, two teenagers aged 15 and 16, were approached by two people, believed to be in their late teens, as they walked in a field near to Cricklade Leisure Centre, Stones Lane.

They demanded the victims hand over their bags and then threatened one of them with a knife.

Det Con Chris Hughes, of Swindon CID, is investigating the incident.

He said: “This incident took place in the grounds of a well-used leisure centre when it was still light outside. It is likely that there were people in the area at the time who may have seen or heard suspicious activity.

“This was no doubt very frightening for the victims – fortunately they weren’t physically injured but were of course very shaken up. We believe this to be an isolated incident and we have already made a number of arrests, but we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have information which could help our investigation.”

A 16-year-old male from Cricklade has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released under investigation.

Two 17-year-old males from Cricklade have also been arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and has been released under investigation.
