Two arrested after M4 stop and search reveals drugs and a large amount of money

Two men have been arrested following a stop and search of a car on the M4.

Around 3pm on Saturday 25 January, an Audi A3 travelling east bound on the M4 was stopped by officers close to junction 15 (Chiseldon and Swindon turn off). 

It was suspected that the male driver was driving under the influence. 

The car was searched and cannabis and a large sum of money were found.

Both male occupants from the South Wales area were arrested:

The driver (24-year-old) was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, money laundering and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.  He has been released under investigation.

The passenger (23-year-old) was arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs and money laundering.  He has been given an adult caution for the possession of cannabis offence and released under investigation for the other two suspected offences.
