A man has been jailed for nine months after a cannabis factory was located in Swindon earlier this week.

Emiljano Isufi, 28, of Wolsely Avenue, Park South, was charged with cultivation of cannabis following the discovery at the address he was renting on 10 January.

In total, five rooms at the address had been transformed for the cultivation of cannabis, with a sophisticated set-up of approximately 200 plants at various stages of growth, and modified electrics at the property.

Isufi was arrested at the scene, charged and remanded and appeared in court the following day where he pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of cannabis and was given a nine month prison sentence.

PC Whettam said: “I am pleased that this case has been dealt with swiftly by the courts. This was a significant set up with all four bedrooms plus one ground floor room adapted for the sole purpose of cannabis production on a commercial scale.

“If you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood, we would urge you to report your concerns to police so action can be taken and those involved put before this courts quickly, as this case demonstrates.
