Police appeal for witnesses following attempted robbery in North Swindon

Officers are investigating an attempted robbery in North Swindon and are appealing for witness information.

The incident happened in Lady Lane at approximately 11pm on 29 May. 

The victim, a 15-year-old boy, reported that a man had approached him and threatened to assault him if he did not hand over his belongings.

The victim attempted to run away, however, was assaulted by the man before then making his escape. He sustained a sore lip and ear but did not require hospital treatment. Nothing was stolen.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 30s, approximately 6ft tall with slight facial hair. He was wearing a blue Adidas sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Officers carried out extensive searches of the area following the incident and conducted enquiries with the local pub but the suspect was not identified. 

The police would like to speak to anyone with information in relation to this incident, and urge them to get in touch.  Those with CCTV footage which may assist, are being asked to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220055672.
