Witness appeal after Old Town disorder involving possession of an offensive weapon

Swindon Police are appealing for witnesses following a disorder in Old Town between two men.

At approximately 11.10pm on Wednesday 19 January, police were called to a report of an ongoing disorder outside The Victoria Pub.

Officers attended the area and located two men fighting in Wood Street.

A 20-year-old man from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon, and a 51-year-old man from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of aid/abet the possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray.

Both have been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.

Offcers say they would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, who witnessed the disorder.

The force are asking for those with information to call 101 and quote crime reference number 54220006553.
