Swindon Borough Council is urging the public to de-stress and possibly improve their health with a walk in their local park.

The council is an enthusiastic participant in Love Parks Week, a national campaign created by the Keep Britain Tidy charity.
Walking is a simple way of burning calories, and being in relaxing surroundings has proven benefits for mental health.
A council spokesperson said: "When it comes to fitness, you don’t need to spend hours in the gym - a walk through the park is an ideal way to burn some fat and increase your endorphins (your happy chemical).
"In fact, just a 20-minute walk a day is proven to have significant health benefits.
"Breathing in the fresh air and spending some time enjoying nature and wildlife is proven to help mindfulness, decreasing levels of depression and anxiety, improving sleep and concentration. "So why not get into a new routine this Love Parks Week?
