A new Swindon and Wiltshire Police and Crime Commissioner election must be held following poll winner Jonathon Seed being disbarred.

The Wiltshire Council member is ineligible to hold the office because of a driving conviction dating from the early 1990s.
In the election held on Thursday, 6 May, he gathered a total of 100,003 first and second choice votes, placing him firmly ahead of other candidates.
Labour's Junab Ali won 34,147 votes, independent Mike Rees 31,722, Green Party candidate Brig Oubridge 16,606 and Reform UK candidate Julian Malins QC 4,438.
In accordance with electoral regulations, as Cllr Seed secured more than 50 percent of first and second votes another election must be held.
The Conservative candidate has insisted via his legal representatives that he has always been open with his party about his conviction, and had been told by the party he was eligible for candidacy.
