Peter Beardsley has made over 326 appearances for the Newcastle team. He played as a forward and he has been suspended from any activities that relate to football for over 32 weeks.

The main reason for this is because he made racial comments to a player. Beardsley called one player a monkey and he also joked about him climbing trees. These comments were made while he was a coach for the team. It’s been added that his remarks were wholly unacceptable and that they were obviously racist.

Beardsley is Somehow Disappointed in the Findings

Beardsley has stated that he is both surprised and disappointed by what the panel decided. He was charged with three different counts of racist language, but he categorically denies the claims. He left the Newcastle team after he went through an investigation, which lasted 14 months. Various sports betting sites, including NetBet are now having to adjust their odds for the team while also taking into account the current state of the FA.

Beardsley was played 59 times by England but he has been forced to go on an educational course. The panel doesn’t believe that Beardsley was a racist, they believe that because he is 58 years of age, that he has not had the appropriate training. They also believe that he needs educating on how hurtful these remarks can be and that it is important not to make them. One of the witnesses who heard the monkey comment being made even said that he doesn’t think that Peter is a racist and that he didn’t make the comment in a racist way, but it came out looking bad as the receiving player was black.
