THE most colorful, inclusive LGBTQ+ Festival in town is set to return to Swindon on Saturday 10th August for its 11th year.

Swindon & Wiltshire Pride are very proud to announce we are working in association with Nationwide Building Society, our main sponsor for the 2019 Festival. Our headliners for the Festival will be N-trance and La Voix.

Faye Whitmarsh, Head of Culture & Inclusion at Nationwide Building Society said: “We’re very pleased to be supporting this year’s Pride Festival & Parade in Swindon – the home of our Nationwide headquarters. We are passionate about valuing human difference and inclusion. These events are a great opportunity to celebrate in a fun and fully inclusive way, and bring our members, employees and the local community together.”

Chairman Kristian Wheeler said, “Having Nationwide back onboard as our Main Sponsor for 2019, is incredible achievement and shows how businesses are supporting their LGBTQ+ staff and the whole community of Swindon & Wiltshire.”

June is LGBT+ Pride Month, the month is celebrated in June in commemoration of the Stonewall Riots, which kicked off the first major demonstrations for gay rights in America in 1969. The Pride movement across the UK and Worldwide provides a positive stance against discrimination and aggression toward Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people to promote their self-affirmation, dignity, equality rights, increase their visibility as a social group, build community, and embrace sexual diversity and gender variance.

The event will be held in Swindon at the Town Gardens on Saturday 10th August and will kick off with a parade that will start just after 11am making its way through old town. The Old Town Gardens will be filled with a burst of colour and Festival atmosphere, centered around the Nationwide Stage and Stephen G Sloan Stage (sponsored by Thames Water). The Festival will also have a Family Zone, Arts Zone, Shopping Zone, Community Zone, and Craft zone which is new for 2019.

There are still many ways to get involved. Swindon & Wiltshire Pride are looking for Stall holders, Sponsors, and Volunteers.
