Witness appeal following break-in at Purton Co-op

Wiltshire Police are urgently appealing for witnesses following a break-in at Co-Op in Purton.

The store in Station Road was targeted on Tuesday morning at approximately 3.30am (27/8).

Police were alerted by the alarm sounding and a passer-by who noticed the shop looked insecure.

Damage had been caused to the door and two cash boxes appear to have been stolen.

CSI attended the scene and enquiries are currently ongoing.

Officers believe three males were involved in the incident.

- The first suspect is described as a white, stocky male, around 5 ft 8 inches tall, wearing a blue jacket, black trousers, black shoes, a black scarf around his face and a black hat. He was wearing white gloves and holding a crowbar.

- The second suspect is described as a white, stock male, also approximately 5ft 8 inches tall wearing black trousers, black shoes, blue jacket and a black scarf covering his face with white gloves on his hands. He was carrying some sort of screwdriver.

- The third suspect is described as a white male around 5ft 8inch tall wearing blue trousers, black shoes, a black scarf covering his face and white gloves. He was carrying a small crowbar.

Anyone with information or anyone who was passing the area around the time who may have dash cam footage, should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54240100740.
