Police hunt man who racially abused another during Tesco facemask row

Wiltshire Police are appealing for the public's help in tracing this person - wanted in connection with a racially-aggravated incident.

The unknown suspect has entered a Tesco Express shop, in Liden, Swindon, around 11.40am on 5 February where he has then been involved in an argument with another man in the shop over wearing a facemask.

LCI Purcell, from Swindon's Community Policing Team, said: "Hate crime, and using a person's race or gender, to victimise them is an offence and one we take extremely seriously.

"There is a person on the receiving end of this abuse and it isn't acceptable for them to be treated in this way."

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or may have information on this person's identification, is asked to call 101 and use crime reference 54210011625.
