Swindon Borough Council have announced Wanborough Road will be closed from Poplars Nursery to Burycroft Junction next month.
As part of the new Redlands housing development for the New Eastern Villages, the council says new highway drainage, street lights and a footpath needs to be installed along Wanborough Road.
For these improvements to go ahead, Conlon Ltd will be closing the road between Poplars Nursery to Burycroft Junction from Monday, 6 June - Friday, 9 September 2022.
Access to business and homes will be maintained, and emergency services have been notified of the closure.
Due to safety reasons, cyclists and walkers will not be able to travel through the area where the contractor is digging up the road.
The council says it will also be working on the Southern Connector Access Road scheme under this closure.
