Officers from Swindon's Dedicated Crime Team have arrested a man at an address in Swindon thanks to information supplied by a member of the public as part of County Lines campaign.

On Friday 8 February officers went to the property on County Road and following a search located a 35-year-old man from London next to a shed at the rear of the address; he was found to be in possession of class A drugs and cash.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply and has now been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

PC Simon Sanghera said:  "I'm pleased to say that intelligence given to us from a person in the community lead to this arrest which is County Lines related.

"This is a good example of how the public can help us clamp down on drug dealing in their area.  In this case, suspicious activity at an address was questioned by someone who decided to alert us.  As a result we managed to catch a suspect in the act.

"I would encourage anyone who spots any suspicious activity in their community to contact us - your eyes and ears could help us stop County Lines drug dealing."
