More than 1,000 Swindon households have already registered an interest in the latest round of Solar Together.

This is the scheme which offers residents the opportunity to purchase a quality solar panel installation at a competitive price.

The core principle is that coming together as a group gives residents enhanced buying power and allows the approved providers to offer a better price than individual homeowners might get from entering the market alone.

Frequent questions include:

- ‘Do solar PV panels only produce electricity when the sun is shining?’

- ‘Which warranties do I receive for my solar PV system via Solar Together?’

- ‘How long does the solar panel system last?’

People can find the answers to these and many more questions on the Solar Together website.

They can also Register their interest for free, with no obligation to continue further.

The independent Energy Saving Trust has also produced a guide to solar panels, along with a search-by-postcode tool to help estimate the energy bill savings and financial payments people could potentially receive by installing solar panels.
