Twelve members of the Wiltshire Police Special Constabulary went out on Wednesday 5 June, during an evening shift to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) across Walcot, Railway Village and Freshbrook in response to public complaints and local tasking.

The Special Constabulary put out trained response officers from the Local Police Tasking Team (LPTT), drone pilots utilising a specialist Drone Unit to help support those areas from above, taser officers and officers from the Specials Road Safety Unit (SRSU) were also involved.

This was organised as part of #VolunteersWeek here in Wiltshire; highlighting the capability and drive of volunteers across the county.

A police spokesperson said: "Our Specials in Wiltshire are dedicated to help protect our communities and continue to grow in numbers with a leadership team driven to support our Chief Constable.

"You will find Specials are giving up their free time most days to help keep Swindon and Wiltshire safe."

If you would like to join the Special Constabulary, make sure to register your interest via the Wiltshire Police Talent Bank here: https://orlo.uk/5UICo
