The South Swindon Parish Council have taken action to temporarily put the sale of Apsley House - the previous home of Swindon's Museum and Art Gallery - on hold.
South Swindon Parish Council have announced that they have triggered a moratorium for the sale of Apsley House.
The listed building used to be the location of the town's Museum and Art Gallery.
A spokesperson from the South Swindon council said: "At a meeting of its Full Council on the 19 July 2022, it was resolved by South Swindon Parish Council that we will express an interest in Apsley House."
The moratorium is said to provide time and space for the Parish Council to survey the structure, investigate the potential of the facility and produce a feasibility study and business proposal.
