A burglar walked into a supported living flat and stole jewellery from a woman in her seventies.

Officers investigating the Swindon burglary have released a CCTV image of a woman they would like to speak to.

The incident happened on the afternoon of 6 September 06/09 at a supported living complex in Drove Road. A resident realised a woman had made her way into her flat through an open door.

A police spokesperson said: "She confronted the woman, who apologised and said she was looking for someone else and then left.

"Afterwards, the victim, a woman in her seventies, realised various items of jewellery had been stolen.

"We believe this burglary may be linked to two other similar incidents in the Royal Wootton Bassett area around that time.

"We have issued a CCTV image of a woman we would like to speak to in connection with this burglary. We appreciate it isn't the clearest quality but we are hoping someone will still recognise her."

Anybody who recognises or thinks they recognise the person in the image is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference 54210087105. Alternatively, they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
