A 70-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a woman's death.
At 2.30am today - 21 June - the police were called to an address in Standen Way, Blunsdon St Andrew after the sudden death of a woman in her 40s.
A police spokesperson said: "Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and a 70-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently in police custody.
"People living locally will see an increased police presence throughout the day and we want to provide reassurance that there is no risk to the wider public."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting log 26 of today.
