Swindon Fire Station will be holding an open day to raise money for the Fire Fighters Charity.
On Saturday 29 June the station will be hosting an open day event between 11am and 4pm.
It will include attractions such as first aid and CPR advice from SWAS, a raffle and tombola with prizes, the Fire Service Store, a range of refreshments and a display of vintage emergency vehicles.
There will also be an opportunity to talk to a member of the fire team to find out more about the station's wholetime recruitment opportunities.
Swindon Town FC’s Academy will be taking part with a penalty shoot-out area, and other activities for children will include a bouncy castle.
Station Manager Dave Slawinski said: “We want this to be a great day for the whole family so, while we do want to raise as much money as possible for the Fire Fighters Charity, most of the activities are free and the price of refreshments has been kept low thanks to the support of local businesses.
"Last year’s open day was a great success so we’re looking forward to seeing lots of people on Saturday!”
The station will be holding a quiet hour from 10am to 11am for visitors who find busy crowds, flashing lights and sirens challenging. There are still some tickets available for this, and people can find out more by emailing [email protected]
Guests are asked to use public transport to get to the event if possible, but if driving is necessary they can park at Holy Cross Primary School on Queens Drive or St Joseph's College in Ocotal Road, who have volunteered their car parks.
