A man from Swindon has been charged with racial abuse after an incident following the Swindon Town vs Manchester City match at the County Ground in January.

Lee Oscroft, 24, from Kingshill Road, Swindon has been charged with racially aggravated harassment and using threatening or abusive words likely to cause harassment alarm or distress.

He is bailed to appear before Swindon magistrates on Tuesday, 19 July at 2pm.

This follows an incident in which former England footballer Ashley Cole, who was part of the ITV broadcast team, was subject to racial abuse following the Swindon Town vs Manchester City match at the County Ground on 7 January.
