One of Swindon's best-known theatre schools hasn't let the covid crisis silence its young singers.
The Janice Thompson Performance Trust offers singing lessons over Zoom every Tuesday from 5.30pm onwards.
Each week small groups of singers, from three-year-old beginners to 17-year-old advanced students, are led by team teachers Jessie Thompson, Flora Wilkins, Andrea Lockwood, Alicia Rendle and Shelley Morgan.
The teachers are assisted by A Level student Katie Terrett and classical singer Matilda Wale, whose studies at Birmingham Conservatoire have been interrupted by the lockdown.
JTPTrust Director Janice Thompson said: "We have been determined that covid-19 will not interrupt the young singers’ vocal enjoyment and development.
"We have simply moved our exam preparation and performances online!"
Online projects, including a video presentation of Over the Rainbow and Somewhere by members of the Concert Choir, have been released on Facebook for all to enjoy, and further information can be found at https://jtptrust.org/
In the face of the uncertainty surrounding singing and coronavirus, classes will continue online in September.
If any singer would like to join in online, they are invited to contact Janice V Thompson at the JTPTrust at [email protected]
