Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted at an address in Toothill, Swindon.

Officers received a call from the ambulance service at approximately 4.30 Friday afternoon (10/05) after they attended a property on Oakham Close following a report that a man had been stabbed.

The man, who is in his 30s, received three stab wounds after he was attacked while walking towards the property.  Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital for further treatment; the injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Det Sgt Scott Anger from Swindon CID said:  "This was not a random assault as we believe the victim was known to his attacker.

"We believe the person who stabbed our victim was male so we are appealing for witnesses to any altercation between two males or any male acting suspiciously, possibly leaving the address on Oakham Close this afternoon.

"If anyone has any further information or heard or saw anything suspicious please contact Swindon CID quoting log number 210 of today."
