The team at Swindon's Great Western Hospital have voiced their gratitude to patients taking part in clinical trials.
There are currently 68 open studies ongoing at the hospital, and the aim of such trials is to develop more effective medicines for the future.
Among the patients is Robin, whose story the hospital shared.
A trust spokesperson said: "After being told he had only one year to live following his prostate cancer diagnosis, Robin joined a study at the trust to test a new treatment combination.
"Seven and a half years later, he is living an active life and still enjoying his passion for photography."
Robin said: "Being on the Enzalutamide trial was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It gives me hope for the present and future.”
The trust spokesperson added: "We’re proud to have 68 open studies, and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who takes part in clinical trials, helping to improve medicine for the future."
