Police are investigating a robbery of a 79-year-old man in Swindon and are appealing for witnesses to get in touch.

At approximately 10.10am on Saturday 22 June, the victim was walking in Taplow Walk, Park South, when he was approached by two males on bicycles.

The males cycled past him and as they did, one of them reached into the man’s left breast pocket on his shirt and stole £115 in cash.

They cycled off towards Priory Road.

The main suspect is described as a white male aged between 15 and 20, between 5 ft 9 and 6 ft tall, of average build. He had dark hair and was wearing a black baseball cap, a black top and black trousers.

The second male is described as white, aged between 15 to 20 years old, of average build. He also had dark hair and was wearing a black baseball cap, a grey top and grey bottoms.

PC Daniel Laurie said: “No force was used during this incident and no threats were made towards the victim but it is likely to have caused him upset. The incident happened within a matter of seconds – police were called immediately and attended the scene to carry out an area search but were unable to locate the two males involved.

“The main suspect cycled off with the second male and they were last seen going towards Priory Road, so we are urging anyone with information to contact police immediately.”
