National housebuilder Persimmon Homes have made a donation of £1,000 to Asthma relief, a Swindon born charity, to buy vital breathing equipment for hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, medical centres and hospices throughout Wiltshire and nearby surrounding areas.
The charity’s founder David Penman set it up to buy nebulisers for people experiencing breathing difficulties during or following a time of illness.
David Penman, the charity’s founder, decided to set up the charity following not only his brother’s death at only 28 years old from asthma related breathing difficulties but also following his own stay in hospital following a heart attack many years ago. He said “This had a profound effect on me and it was then that I set up the Charity Asthma Relief from my hospital bed.”
Pauline Fletcher, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Wessex, added: “David Penman has done amazing work from difficult circumstances and has gone on to help so many people.”
