(Above) Mayor of Swindon Mike Bawden (1982 to 1983) and Lord Marsh (from Swindon), the Minister of Transport under Margaret Thatcher, puts the finishing touches to the Bruce Street Mural. This mural was a celebration of Swindon voluntary sector.
In 2015 the voluntary sector marked its 80th birthday with a celebration event at the Pilgrim Centre in Regent Street.
