LINK Sport’s Sam Morshead runs the rule over Swindon Town’s individual performances at Barnsley this afternoon…
Wes Foderingham: An important stop from Devante Cole, good under the high ball and composed with ball at feet. A very efficient afternoon’s work. 8
Jack Stephens: Looks a little underweight still but made several critical challenges and one huge block in the second half. 8
Nathan Thompson: Organised his defensive line well and rarely looked like being breached. 8
Jordan Turnbull: Solid as a rock, again. Increasingly becoming Swindon’s Mr Reliable. 8
Nathan Byrne: Very lethargic in the first half but picked up the tempo after the break and contributed his first goal of the season. 7
Massimo Luongo: Strange to see so many misplaced passes from the Aussie international. Better in the second period but well below his best. 6
Louis Thompson: An off day for the usually consistent midfielder, who couldn’t get into a rhythm, at any point. 6
Yaser Kasim: Another creative king whose performance was less than regal. Some occasional nice touches but didn’t make an impact. 6
Amari’I Bell: Hardly got a chance to show what he’s about offensively but looked steady enough at the back. 6
Jon Obika: Barely touched the ball before his early withdrawal due to a shoulder injury. 6
Michael Smith: Didn’t get into the game, though willingly put his body about up front. 6
Subs:
Andy Williams (for Jon Obika, 20): Full of energy, always finding space and testing Turnbull. The best of a mediocre attacking bunch on the day. 7
Jake Reeves (for Louis Thompson, 77): Classy on the ball again and in the right place at the right time for his goal. 6
Subs not used: Ty Belford, Jack Barthram, Anton Rodgers, Connor Waldon, George Barker
