Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Walcot, Swindon last night. A member of the public phoned police at around 10.40pm last night (15 May 2018) reporting a group of youths acting suspiciously in Shrewsbury Road. Officers attended and, assisted by the police helicopter, carried out a thorough search of the area. A short while later we were alerted to a man being admitted to Great Western Hospital with serious head and chest injuries. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Due to the nature of his injuries we are still waiting to speak to him to ascertain exactly what happened. No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are ongoing and we would appeal for anyone with information to call Swindon CID on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. |
