Wiltshire Police are appealing for the return of some sentimental jewellery following the theft of a purse in Swindon town centre.

Between 2.15pm and 3.15pm on Friday 16 March, a woman in her 70's was leaving the Superfry fish and chip shop on Regent Street when she noticed her black purse was missing from her bag.

The purse contained three rings:  Engagement ring –  a yellow gold band with a break in the band opposite a single diamond.

Wedding ring –  a thin yellow gold band that is slightly bent.

Eternity ring –  a yellow gold band with little diamond hearts along the edges.

It's believed the purse was taken from the woman while she was in the shop.

Local Crime Investigator Hayley Westlake said:  "Although these rings have very little monetary value they carry a hugh amount of sentimental value for the lady involved and she would desperately like to have them back.

"If you know of the whereabouts of these rings or have any information which could lead to the return of this jewellery, please contact me on 101."

If you can help with enquiries please contact LCI Hayley Westlake on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
