Wiltshire Police appealing for any information after a prolonged spell of damage to cars in Swindon.

Residents in Toothill, Swindon, have reported various damage to cars - from multiple tyre slashings to paintwork 'keying' - since the beginning of December. Incidents peaked on New Years' Eve when 14 reports of damage were logged, with a further nine reports in January and three more across February.

Damage has occurred in the following places: Luddesdown Road, Rhuddlan, White Castle, Bellver and Alnwick. Cars in nearby roads have also been targeted.

No obvious link has been made between the victims but some have been targeted several times - with damage running into thousands of pounds.

PC Rory Draper, Swindon North Community Policing Team Co-Ordinator, said: "Vandalism to property will not be tolerated and we are determined to catch whoever is responsible for this.

"In addition to the financial burden, the victims have suffered inconvenience and real anxiety through feeling they are being targeted but with no obvious reason. All the crimes have been linked and we are doing everything in our power to identify those responsible and protect the community.

"This remains one of our area priorities and we recognise how distressing this can be to the victims."

Anyone with CCTV that may have captured the offenders, or if anyone has seen or heard anything related to these damages, is urged to get in touch with Swindon North Community Policing Team on 101.
