By Ben Fitzgerald - 2 December 2019

Wiltshire police are appealing for witnesses after a black Bentley Continental was found abandoned in Wichelstowe.

Officers were called at around 1.30pm yesterday to a Bentley driving at high speed on the M4 between junctions 15 and 16; the driver failed to stop and an authorised pursuit took place.

The car came off at junction 16 and headed towards Wroughton. Officers lost sight of the vehicle at one point but then located it on Barbrook Road, Wichelstowe at 1.45pm

It's believed two occupants - a male and female - left the vehicle.

A 40-year-old man from Surrey has been arrested and is currently in custody.

The female is still outstanding.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen this distinctive vehicle driving at speed or erratically and anyone acting suspiciously in the Wichelstowe area around this time.

Police are also urging members of the public to submit any dash cam footage they may have of this car.
