Police hunt attacker who stabbed teenager in recreation ground

Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted on Mannington Recreation Ground.

The incident happened around 9.30pm on Sunday 6 August 2017;  a 19-year-old man was stabbed by an unknown offender(s).

The victim was taken to Southmead Hospital with non-life threatening injuries where he is currently in a stable condition.

A knife was found nearby by officers.

DI Paul Hacker said:  "We would like to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area around this time.
"I want to reassure the community that we are prioritising this investigation and believe this was an isolated incident and the victim was possibly known to the offender.
"Additional reassurance patrols are being put on in the area as we continue to make enquiries."
