Police hunt man who attempted to force teenage girl into car

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a suspicious incident took place in the Cheney Manor Road/Vicarage Road area of Swindon.

Around 11pm on Friday 13 July a man attempted to force an 18-year-old woman into a black Audi.

The man, described as Asian, 5’7 to 5’8 tall,  in his 30s, of large build with black hair and stubbly beard and moustache, was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt at the time.

Although shaken, the woman was fortunately not harmed.

DC Wayne Harvey said:  "I want to reassure people that we are working hard to find out who this man is - our enquiries are continuing and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information in relation to this incident.  Did you see or hear anything in this area of town around this time on this day?
"We are carrying out extra patrols in the area along with house to house enquiries and are currently following a number of leads.
"We don't want people to be alarmed - but please consider your own personal safety when you are out and about.  More information can be found on our Wiltshire Police Website:  www.wiltshire.police.uk/Keepingyousafe."
