Police carried out two searches of property in Walcot this morning in response to information relating to the handling of stolen goods.

Officers from the Swindon Community Tasking Team and Community Policing Teams carried out the warrants at two addresses in the area.

Thorough searches of the addresses were carried out and a number of electronic items were seized. No arrests have been made at this stage but enquiries are ongoing.

South Swindon Community Coordinator PCSO Philip Day said: "Burglaries and thefts are hugely invasive and can have a long lasting impact on the victims of such crimes.

"We will continue to actively target both those who commit burglaries and thefts, and those who are believed to be involved in the handling of any goods that have been stolen.

“We ask that if anyone has any information relating to people handling stolen goods in their communities, please get in contact with us on 101. Alternatively, information can be passed to us anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111”.
