Prior Park Prep School held a special 1940s themed ball this weekend for students, staff, and parents, to mark 70 academic years since it opened.
Prior Park Prep School was opened on 18 September 1946, and originally could accommodate 62 boarding boys. The school now has over 200 pupils, and consists of many facilities, such as a gymnasium, swimming pool, sports field, a chapel, various science labs, and a new Design and Technology Suite, which is due to open in September.
To celebrate their anniversary, the school held a ball, including classic cars, swing dancers, a sand bag bar, and a three course 1940s themed meal. Guests were required to turn up in 1940s attire. The Mid west Big Band, and the Swing out Swindon dancers were invited to the event, and performed alongside a dance routine from the Year 8 girls.
The event had very positive reception from all the guests, and the school looks forward to the next 70 years.
