Swindon residents will have the chance to meet representatives from Taylor Wimpey to discuss proposed plans to build 62 homes on Ambrose Field.

The meeting was arranged by Parish Cllr Nick Burns-Howell, Cllr Claire Ellis and Robert Buckland MP in the wake strong opposition.

Parish Cllr Nick Burns-Howell said, “We have been working alongside local residents to ensure that their concerns are heard by Taylor Wimpey. We have spent the last few months knocking on doors, delivering information leaflets, sending emails, posting on social media and hosting meetings, all with the aim of making residents aware of the planning application and have their opinions listen to.

"We have asked Taylor Wimpey directly to withdraw this inappropriate application on land which is allocated as open space. This is not about nimbyism, this is about backing the Council’s commitment to the local plan and getting developers to adhere to it.”

Cllr Claire Ellis said, “I am pleased that the residents are finally getting their voices heard. We have a morning allocated to meeting with representatives from Taylor Wimpey. It will be a good forum for residents to put their concerns directly to Taylor Wimpey and finally get some answers.”

Taylor Wimpey will be at the offices of Robert Buckland QC MP in Wood Street, Old Town from 10am on Thursday 27 July.
