Rein and Shine Riding School in Swindon invites you to horse around

Hoof Club at Rein and Shine Riding School have opened a new extension, thanks to a £68,000 grant from Sport England.

Proprietors, John and Johanna McDonald, are inviting families and friends for a private gathering to showcase see what the stables have to offer in celebration of extending their facilities to accommodate more members.

The new facilities are designed to get more children involved in horse-riding; a sport which will help them make friends; build self-esteem; learn new skills; and create aspirations for the future.

The not for profit Hoof Club CIC (Community Interest Company) believes that, although people might think horse-riding can be expensive or even an elitist sport, Rein & Shine Riding Centre, based at Buryhill Farm near Minety, is making it accessible to everyone. The centre offers a wide range of learning and tuition programs, courses and lessons catering for all learning needs. It’s for anyone wanting to participate in fun weekend activities, school holiday day camps and even progress to competitions without ever needing to own a pony.

Hoof Club CIC director, Johanna McDonald, said: “Our Club has been widely embraced by communities near and far and we have achieved over 100 members in the last two-years. Thanks to Sport England, the new funding will allow us to significantly extend our membership and range of activities. The children love spending their evenings, weekends and holidays out in the fresh air doing something."

The club believes that just being around horses is great for a child’s self-confidence and it’s an opportunity for them to create new like-minded, life-long friends. It’s educational and very progressive; all members receive instruction and feedback and could potentially go from beginner to competent rider with a very reasonable amount of tuition.
