Slimming World member Alan Carter, a press tool maker at BMW Swindon, has lost 9 stone since September the same weight as his group leader Jac Bingle.
Alan joined the Redhouse Saturday group 35 weeks ago and has consistently maintained a steady weight loss over the past 8 months averaging nearly 4 lb a week.
He said: “Joining Slimming World and the fabulous Saturday group has completely changed my life. I have a totally different outlook on the way I eat, cook, shop and plan my meals. However the major benefit has been the effect that losing so much weight has had regarding my health.
When I achieved my 9 stone award Jac suggested I lift her up to see just how much weight I had lost as she weighs 9 stone. When she jumped onto my back I was just astounded and couldn’t believe I had been carrying that extra amount around for so long – the equivalent of a whole person!”
Jac said: “Alan walked into our group last September on his own, a man stepping into a very different environment, shy and with very little confidence. Gradually week by week he started to chat and share his new found changes in group. He has now made many friends with other members and slowly his confidence and self worth has improved.
"Alan is now the ‘life and soul’ of our Saturday morning group and his positivity, diligence and success motivates us all every week. I look forward to sharing in Alan’s journey all the way to his target weight which I have no doubt he will surely achieve this year.”
