Swindon Croquet Club invited members from Cricklade Parkinson's Cafe to try their hand at croquet.

Swindon Croquet Club members warmly welcomed a group from Cricklade Parkinson’s Cafe on Tuesday morning - 24 May.

Club members explained the basics of the game to the cafe group and demonstrated how to use the mallet before taking the visitors onto the lawns to enjoy a few games.

The Cricklade Parkinson's Cafe provides a monthly meet-up event for attendees to have coffee, cake and to talk to other people affected by Parkinson's. Family and friends of those with Parkinson's are also welcome to these meet-ups.

The group get together on the third Wednesday of every month at the Cricklade Club on Cricklade's High Street (38 High Street, SN6 6AY). The sessions run from 10.30am - 12pm.

The cafe visitors were also served with refreshments in the clubhouse.

Event organiser Dave Booth said: “We were delighted to welcome the visitors to our Club and to introduce them to this fascinating game. We very much hope they will come along again.”

Meanwhile the High Handicap Golf Croquet team (captained by Tony Tomlin) enjoyed an impressive 13-7 home victory on Monday 23 May, overcoming a team from the newly formed Moreton-in-Marsh Croquet Club.
